Nicholas is a veteran broker with diverse experience across a variety of products and industries. After leaving the City of London, and having learned to identify fast-growth markets, Nicholas moved into mobile app development and co-founded The Big Local App with a unique franchise investment model, which became the fastest selling franchise in the UK in 2012.
He later formed EIS Investment Group to control the quality of Investors into another start-up, Planet Entertainment, and expanded the business to help other EIS-qualified companies grow.
Nicholas brings a significant amount of experience and expertise in the franchise marketplace, particularly in rolling out agency agreements, liaising with the principal franchisor, and managing franchisees to form the foundations of successful partnerships. He is particularly skilled at developing pricing and revenue models ensure that all parties are suitably incentivised to make partnerships mutually beneficial, and therefore highly scalable.
Steve has over 35 years of experience in industries including commodities trading, senior portfolio management, and sales. He started his career at JP Morgan in London as a junior broker, quickly accelerating up the corporate ladder to eventually be head of a 75-person team trading over $750 million a day. He has worked in the USA, Singapore, and Hong Kong as well as in Europe, so he has a broad and extensive knowledge of ever-changing emerging and new markets.
Steve is described as forthright and brutally honest in his opinions and advice, and he is not afraid to share his views with colleagues and clients alike to make sure that everyone understands his vision. His mantra is, “if you only ever do what you have always done, you will only ever get what you have always got."
